Backed up against steep mountains, the Paul do Mar Aparthotel is a 60-studio oceanfront hotel isolated at the end of the road in the fishing village of Paul do Mar. The town of Calheta with its imported white sand beach is five kilometres west. Funchal Airport (FNC) is 60 kilometres away.
Hotel Features.
Outdoor and indoor heated freshwater pools, including a children's pool, provide year-round swimming. A complimentary health club includes sauna, steam room, spa tub, and rooms for massage, facials, and nail care (surcharges for services). An onsite mini market sells wine and basic groceries.

Expert Tip. A winding footpath runs up the mountainside on the hotel's west side. This was used by villagers to reach the main road before one was built to the village. Today, hearty guests can ascend the path to reach a restaurant on a 500-metre bluff, or simply to enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and ocean.

Driving Directions :
Getting there.
A taxi from the airport costs 65- 70 EUR. A hire car is recommended to reach the hotel, and the hotel also rents out mountain bicycles. The hotel staff can call taxis on request, with advance notice required. Guests can walk around the village and up the mountainsides.
Driving directions. From Funchal Airport, follow motorway to Ribeira Brava roundabout. Turn right toward Ponta do Sol and go through the tunnel. Approaching Ponta do Sol roundabout, go through the tunnel toward Madalena do Mar. At the roundabout at the tunnel's end, turn right toward Calheta on the coast road. At the road's end, turn left toward Calheta. Proceed through two tunnels to the roundabout and continue towards Arco da Calheta, through another tunnel. At the roundabout at the tunnel's end, head toward Calheta/Prazeres. After approximately 500 metres, turn left towards Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar. Go down the hill, through the tunnel toward Paul do Mar and follow the signs to hotel.
